DAVAO COFFEE GUIDE: Where to Find the Best Coffee Shops & Local Roasts in Davao City
Davao City has blossomed into a legitimate specialty coffee hub, offering everything from quiet ancestral houses turned into cafes to sleek, minimalist roasteries.
I’ve been living in Davao City for three years now, and I still continue to hunt for the best coffee—and not just an aesthetically pleasing, Instagrammable-interior coffee shop. While I love a beautiful space to work as a digital nomad, the taste of the coffee is the ultimate deal-breaker for me. I’m a huge fan of specialty coffee and local roasts, and I honestly don’t mind grabbing a cup from a pop-up store or a roadside stop while I’m on the go. If the brew is solid, I’m there. After three years of exploring the city’s caffeine scene, here are my absolute favorites.
In this coffee guide, I’m sharing my personal favorites that balance exceptional flavor with the “work-from-anywhere” lifestyle.
Kapeweñoz
This is my number one spot in Davao. It actually started as a mobile street bar during the pandemic before finding its permanent home. It’s discreetly located, giving it a true “hidden gem” feel. My go-to order is the Iced Americano—it’s consistent, bold, and exactly what I need to start my day.

The coffee scene in Davao City is something you truly have to experience one cup at a time. For me, it’s never just about a pretty background for a photo—it’s about that first sip of a perfectly extracted local roast and the community of baristas who are so passionate about their craft.
Exploring these shops over the last three years has been one of my favorite parts of living here, and I’m sure I’ll find even more pop-ups and roasteries to share with you soon.
