CLUB SAMAL RESORT DAY TOUR: Inclusion, Cost, Amenities, and Experience
While freediving was the main reason I visited Samal Island over the weekend, doing a resort day tour was another experience I wanted to try.
I checked out Discovery Samal, Pearl Farm Resort, Costa Azalea, and Club Samal Resort for their day tour rates. And well, the Club Samal Resort day tour is probably the most budget-friendly option among them.
If you’re looking to experience a beach club vibe in Samal Island with great amenities for a day, here’s everything you need to know from inclusions, cost to amenities and my personal experience.
Club Samal Day Tour at a Glance
The Club Samal Resort day tour is ideal if you just want a quick escape from Davao City without overthinking logistics. It’s one of those resorts where you can arrive, settle in, and immediately slow down.
- Adult Rate: PHP 1,800 (per adult)
- Operating Hours (Day Tour): 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Best Time to Visit: Late January to Early May
- Google Map Location: Club Samal Resort
- Best for: Families, groups, couples, and solo travelers
What I liked about it is how it didn’t feel overwhelming or too “luxury-intimidating,” which made my whole experience more relaxed.
Club Samal Resort Rates & Fees
The Club Samal Resort day tour rate is pretty straightforward, so it’s easier to plan your budget ahead of time.
Unlike other resorts that have different tiers or add-ons, this one already covers most of what you need for a full-day stay. You don’t feel like you constantly have to spend more once you’re inside.
- Entrance Fee (Adults): PHP 1,800
- Entrance Fee (Kids/Seniors/PWD): (not specified, best to confirm)
- Weekday vs Weekend Rates: PHP 1,800 (same rate)
For what’s included, I’d say the value is actually reasonable, especially if you’re comparing it with other resorts in Samal Island.
Day Tour Rate Inclusions
One of the main things I look for in a resort day tour is both pool and beach access. Surprisingly, some luxury resorts don’t offer both, so this already stood out to me.
Here’s what’s included in the Club Samal Resort day tour:
- Roundtrip boat transfer from Davao City directly to the resort
- Pool access
- Beach access
- Free use of sunbeds and umbrella tables
- Shower and restroom access
- WiFi access (8 hours validity, 1 voucher per device)
- Free luxury towel (claim near the pool area)
- Buffet lunch (usually on weekends—better confirm before booking)
- Free parking
After payment, the front desk will give you stubs for towel, which you can claim near the pool area, and buffet, which you can use from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Club Samal Resort: Amenities & Facilities
The resort itself is simple but it’s well-maintained. Again, it is not overly luxurious, but it gives you everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable day.
The pool area is where I spent most of my time. It has separate areas for kids and adults, and it’s clean enough that you’d actually want to stay there for hours.
The beach, on the other hand, has fine sand and is well-kept by the staff. Well, it’s not the most dramatic beach view you’ll ever see, but it’s calm and relaxing which is perfect for just slowing down.
- Pool: One main pool with kids and adult sections
- Beach: Fine sand, well-maintained
- Restrooms & Showers: Clean and functional
- Changing Rooms: Inside shower cubicles with proper privacy
- Lockers: Available
- Lifeguard: On duty
I didn’t expect too much coming here, but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would.
How to Get to Club Samal Resort
You’ll need to get to Davao City first. From there, going to the resort is pretty seamless.
Free Boat Transfer Schedule from Davao to Club Samal Resort
The Club Samal Resort day tour already includes a roundtrip boat transfer departing from Garden by the Bay in Lanang Davao City, and that makes things much easier if you don’t want to deal with logistics.
- Davao to Samal: 8:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 4:30 PM
- Samal to Davao: 7:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 4:00 PM
Try to catch the earliest trip if you want to maximize your stay. The day tour is limited, so every hour actually counts.
Bringing a Private Vehicle
If you prefer to bring your own car, you’ll need to take the ferry from Sasa Wharf. Rates below are updated as of April 24, 2026 (but still best to double-check):
- Light Passenger Vehicle – PHP 350 (1 driver, 3 passengers)
- Motorcycle – PHP 140
- Tricycle – PHP 280
- Elf/Bongo/Canter – PHP 420
Parking is free and already included in the Club Samal Resort day tour rate, which is another small thing that adds value.
By Commute
If you’re commuting, here are the updated fares (as of March 30, 2026):
- Regular: PHP 24
- Senior/PWD/Student: PHP 19
- Child (3–12 years old): PHP 12
If you’re a solo traveler, commuting is definitely the more budget-friendly option.
Club Samal Resort Day Tour for Digital Nomads
Having free WiFi at Club Samal Resort honestly made the experience better for me.
I was able to get some work done while literally in a bikini. It still feels a bit surreal (as always, even though I do this more often) when I think about it. It’s one of those small moments that really reminds me why I chose a nomadic lifestyle.
The connection was stable enough for light to moderate work, so I didn’t feel completely disconnected from my responsibilities.
Tips and Things to Know
- Bring a power bank that can charge your laptop and devices because there are no outlets near the pool
- WiFi is reliable for most tasks, but still have backup data
- Power outages can happen on the island, so be prepared
It’s not a full-on work setup, but it works if you just need to check in or finish a few things.
Club Samal Resort Day Tour Cost: Sample Budget Breakdown
If you’re wondering how much to actually spend on a Club Samal Resort day tour, it really depends on your setup. But here’s a realistic estimate based on my experience.
For a group of 2–4 people with a private vehicle, you can expect around PHP 3,000 per person, including ferry, entrance fee, and some extra budget for food or drinks inside the resort.
For solo travelers, it’s also around PHP 3,000 total, since commuting is cheaper, but you’ll likely spend more on food or small extras.
Food inside the resort is a bit pricey (like PHP 330 for buko and around PHP 200 for coffee), so it’s good to set aside extra pocket money just in case.
Reservation & Booking
Booking a Club Samal Resort day tour is simple and low-commitment.
Walk-ins are allowed, and that makes it very convenient, especially if you’re the type who doesn’t like overplanning (like me 😂).But if you’re visiting on weekends or holidays, it’s still better to message them ahead of time.
You can book upon arrival or arrange it in advance. There’s no deposit required, but bookings are non-refundable, so just keep that in mind.
Is Club Samal Resort Day Tour Worth It?
Based on my experience, yes, the Club Samal Resort day tour is worth it.
It’s a budget-friendly way to experience a beach club setup without spending too much. You already get pool and beach access, sunbeds, towels, and even a buffet lunch on selected days that makes it easy to just slow down and enjoy the whole day.
It’s not ultra-luxury as well, but you know, that’s kind of the point.
Things to Do in Samal Island
Now that you’ve experienced the Club Samal Resort day tour, you might realize that Samal Island actually has a lot more to offer beyond resort hopping.
If you’re planning to stay longer or come back (which I probably will), here are some of the best things to do in Samal Island:
- Freediving in Samal Island – One of the main reasons I will keep coming back in the island soon. There are several dive spots around the island, perfect for both beginners and experienced freedivers.
- Hagimit Falls – A refreshing nature spot where you can swim in cool freshwater pools surrounded by greenery.
- Kaputian Beach – One of the most beautiful beaches in Samal, with clearer water and a more laid-back vibe.
- Vanishing Island – A sandbar that disappears during high tide. It’s simple, but it’s one of those places that feels surreal when you’re there.
- Island hopping tours – If you want to explore more beaches and hidden spots around Samal.
I’ll be linking my full guides for each of these soon, especially for freediving spots and detailed itineraries.
