SIARGAO TRI-ISLAND TOUR: A Travel Guide to Guyam, Daku & Naked Island
From the moment we rolled into General Luna, we saw ads for island hopping everywhere. People will tell you the packages are all the same, and honestly? They kind of are. The real difference comes down to the vibe of your boat crew and how much food they pile onto your table for lunch.
If it’s your first time in Siargao Island, I suggest giving this tour a whole day on your itinerary. Why? Because the beauty of these islands deserves more than a quick photo op. You need time to slowly breathe it all in and let the island magic actually sink in.
3 MOST VISITED ISLANDS IN SIARGAO
Siargao’s “Big Three” are famous for a reason. Each one has its own distinct personality. From the stark, sun-drenched sandbar of Naked Island to the lush, coconut-filled haven of Daku, and the tiny, postcard-perfect Guyam. Even if you’ve been to many islands before, there’s a specific “carefree” energy here that’s hard to find anywhere else. Maybe it’s because of the Siargao curse, as they say.
Naked Island
The island is literally as naked as its name. There are no cottages, no trees—just pure, fine white sand and the vast blue horizon. I was so happy to see how clean it was; the “sky-meets-the-sea” aesthetic would be ruined by even a single piece of trash.
To be totally honest, it didn’t give me that “wow” shock at first because I’d seen similar sandbars before. I went to Carbin Island Reef 2 months ago, but there is something so peaceful about the boundary where the water hits the sand here.
Best things to do in Naked Island:
- Walk the entire length of the sandbar for that “middle of the ocean” feel.
- Take your minimalist “stranded on an island” aesthetic photos.
- Enjoy a quick dip in the crystal-clear water to cool off.
Expect this stop to be so damn hot. There is zero shade. Apply your sunscreen liberally unless you want to go home looking like over-toasted bread!
Daku Island
Daku means “big” in Bisaya, and it lives up to the name as the largest island in the group. If you’re a foodie like me, this is going to be your favorite stop because this is where the legendary island lunch happens.
We feasted on SuTuKil—a Filipino favorite that stands for Sugba (grilled), Tula (stew), and Kilaw (raw seafood salad). We had a massive 6kg fish, grilled pork with spicy sauce, and mountains of fresh fruit. It was the kind of “food cheating” that feels 100% earned after a morning of swimming.
Best things to do in Daku Island:
- Rent a small hut and enjoy a long, slow boodle-fight style lunch.
- Wander through the towering coconut groves—it’s the most Instagrammable spot on the tour.
- Take a nap under the shade of a palm tree after your meal.
Guyam Island
Guyam is tiny, charming, and looks exactly like the island a kid would draw. While it might look like just another island at first glance, its charm is in its size. We actually decided to dock our boat a little further out in the deeper water to swim where it felt more private, using the island as our backdrop.
By the time we hit Guyam, the sun and salt usually start to kick in, but that’s the beauty of it. You leave with salty hair, darker skin, and a very tired but happy heart.
Best things to do in Guyam Island:
- Explore the rocky side of the island for a different view of the reef.
- Grab a fresh coconut (or a burger!) from the small stand on the island.
- Simply sit on the shore and watch the other boats pass by.

Travel Tips for the Siargao Tri-Island Tour
know travel tips can feel repetitive sometimes, but for this one… they actually matter 😅 The siargao tri island tour sounds chill, but it can get intense real quick—heat, sun, long hours in the water.
Here are the things I wish I paid more attention to:
Don’t underestimate the sun
It hits differently out there. You won’t feel it right away because of the wind and water, but give it an hour and you’ll know. Reapply sunscreen always.
Go early if you can
Mornings feel softer, quieter, and less crowded. By midday, especially on Naked Island, it can feel a bit too much.
Bring more water than you think you need
You’ll be swimming a lot, but somehow still feel dehydrated. It sneaks up on you.
Cash is still king
If you’re planning to upgrade your lunch (seafood, drinks, extras), you’ll need cash. No signal, no GCash moments out there.
Waterproof your stuff
Even if you trust the boat, waves happen. A dry bag will save you from unnecessary stress.
Take your time in each stop
It’s easy to rush because it’s “just three islands,” but the magic is really in slowing down. Sit. Float. Do nothing for a bit.

Prices usually range from ₱1,500 to ₱2,500 per person, depending on your group size and inclusions. If you’re sharing a boat, it’s cheaper. If you go private, you’ll pay more, but you’ll have full control of your time.
It’s usually a half-day to full-day tour (around 6–8 hours). Most tours start in the morning and end mid to late afternoon. But I suggest doing it for full day/
Honestly, yes—especially if it’s your first time in Siargao. I didn’t regret doing it; it was a highlight of my first Siargao Island trip.
Siargao Island has so much to offer, and even though this is the “standard” tour, it feels so carefree. I can stay on this island for the rest of my life. I left the boat that day with deeper bikini lines and a two-shades-darker tan, but I also felt like I brought home a small part of the island’s soul with me.
