A Day Tour & My Impressions to the Three of the Most Visited Islands of Siargao

From the moment that we enter the island of Siargao and as we are traveling to General Luna– where lies the heart of the island, you can already see a lot of ads posted everywhere about island tour packages and most people there says that it’s all pretty much the same. The only difference though is I think, the convenience of the boat rental and probably the lunch to be served.

An island hopping tour package will take about a day to enjoy, so if you’re a first time islander, I suggest you should give the island tour a whole day on your itinerary. Why? Because appreciating the beauty of these islands need a lot of time to slowly breathe it all in and fully sink in its magnificence.

Let’s start.

1. Naked Island

The island is literally as naked as how it’s named because there’s nothing in there, no cottages and trees, only pure white and fine sand. And I’m so glad that most of the tourists are aware of proper garbage disposal ’cause it would be really ugly if there’d be trash on the sand.

Naked Island is the sky-meets-the-sea type of island but with a sandbar as its boundary. If I’d be totally honest, it didn’t excite me much aside from experiencing its overwhelming beauty, of course, because that visit almost felt like I was in the same type of island a couple of months ago as I went basking under the sun of the huge white sandbar in Carbin Reef.

When you’re there, it’s just going to be you, the sand, the crystal clear water, and the sun. Expect this first stop of the tour to be sooo damn fucking hot it will seriously burn your skin and very dehydrating. The sea water feels cold when you take a dip that’s why you won’t really feel the heat of the sun on your skin, so just be careful. Make sure that you put on a good sunscreen all over your body, and take note of your swimming time if you don’t want to go home looking like an over toasted bread or something. LOL!

Here’s a photo of me with a bottle of Black Label that I didn’t drink.

2. Daku Island

Daku means “big” in bisaya that’s why it has been said that it’s the largest island of Siargao. You’re going to love it here especially when you’re a foodie like me who really loves to eat because this is the food haven of the tour– it’s where lunch is served.

I don’t know if there ain’t much better lunch meal than a big whole meat of fish that weighs around 6kilos served in a recipe called SuTuKil-– a recipe with a variation of three recipes: Sugba, Tula, Kilaw, then a tray of cooked rice, one tray of grilled pork with a spicy sauce, and a tray of fresh fruits. I’d be so damned if we get to ordered seafoods like crabs and shrimps. Unfortunately, it was sold out. But still, it was a very sumptuous meal.

Food cheating, they say is the most deserved cheating you’d ever do in your life. LOL!

Daku Island is also famous for its well-planted coconut trees that it makes one of Siargao’s most instagrammable places. That’s why I ain’t leaving without having one too.

3. Guyam Island

There’s nothing much in here. For me, it looks just like any other island that I visited where there are lots of coconut trees except of course, this one’s in Siargao. That’s why we decided to just dock our bangka in the middle of the sea where it’s safe to take a swim and just took a photo with the Guyam Island itself.

A lot of swimming has happened during this tour it exhausts me. Well, that’s really the purpose of this island hopping anyways, so I never regret going home tired with more bikini lines, salty hair & a two shades darker skin. It was an amazing experience. Siargao has so much to offer. It feels so carefree and when I think about it, it simply makes me smile ’cause it’s like I brought home a small part of Siargao with me that I will forever remember.

How about you?

Haha. Wala pang naka-sked. Since I got married, medyo bawas na ang gala namin to prioritize yung pag save-up and expenses bilang mag-asawa. Haha. ♥ Hay nakuuuu! Same tayo ng hinahanap! Hahaha. Naghahanap rin ako ng mga local bloggers din pero hindi yung mga overrated na. Ang saya lang kasi na magbasa ng raw content. Yung hindi for ad or anything, basta yung mga simpleng life experiences lang. Haha. 🙂

Di naman halatang interesado ako to know more about it diba hahaha 😀 LOL! Hirap nga mag explore dito eh but I’m glad to randomly find your blog kasi totoo, raw contents are more precious to read.
